Human perception of color is a small slice of the Electromagnetic Radiation Spectrum that is Visible Light to the Naked eye. Photons hitting the eye excite cones on the retina giving us the Perception of color. Rainbows are white light separating into the individual colors Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Color psychology examines how each color invokes an Emotion varying from Hunger in the reds and yellows, Tranquility in greens, and heightened Awareness in the blues and purples.
