Deafness is a personal topic for the UnPanderers. We both know people who are deaf. While it may be easy to understand a temporary lack of hearing, a permenant disability is something entirely different. The desire to understand, be understood, communicate, and express oneself is amplified and unsecured. We can't fully understand what it means to lose our hearing, but we've experienced it secondhand and at length.
